The greatest lessons in humility are learned when you are the doorsteps of failure and you cannot fathom the anguish within. At these moments you wish you had done each step differently but you know that you cannot and it is a mere sentiment of sadness that angers you the most. This anger when projected upon others can have devastating effects . That is why I have adored an age old saying, "Act but not react!"
This dictum as it were could be applied to any form of life altering situations where life stands at crossroads and only one true lane can lead you to success. Thus, losing at the initial phase can help at times but losing at the end is like getting a silver medal at the Olympics instead of gold. You could have had all the glory but you could not because you fell short. That is what silver means for me.
Unlike others I do not take the false proposition of self satisfaction at every step in order to attain happiness. Rather I would express myself and act not react to what I am exposed. Assurance to self even at failure would cause a snowball effect if you will to every failure and it would be lifelong roller-coaster ride of failure after failure. That being said, one must not lose hope at failure or over think the failure from the perception of pride.
Failing is an art unto itself. Failing does not require hours of dedication but it only demands sincerity. Irony is, fate provides failure as a lesson and most take failure as a test. Failure is only a ladder to success as they say but I rather take the elevators. Even elevators can jam up at times but we should never forget, there is a back up generator that will eliminate the chance of taking that ladder.
Given this idea that failure is necessary most worry when they achieve success after success. They are afraid when they earn some amount they think they could not earn, win some tournament they think they would lose or in other terms unexpected success. There is only one explanation for this sort of psychological experience and that is, fear of failure. They have feared failure so much that even at success they fear that failure is around the corner.
This is where the false prophets have acted upon the masses. They have taught that we have to see failure to win. Like the notion, you need to die to see heaven but I reject that theorem. Be honorable of your success. Do not fear failure. Even when you fail, learn. That is about it!
